Anibal Acevedo Vila was born on February 14,
1962, in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico. He majored in Political Sciences
in Rio Piedras in 1982. In 1985 he became a lawyer, graduating
from the University of Puerto Rico. He served as Legislative
Advisor for Governor Rafael Hernandez Colon from January 1989
until June 1992. He was elected to all at-large in the House of
Representatives at Puerto Rico, During his first term in the
House, he served in six committees. In 1985 he was elected to an
at-large seat in the Popular Democratic Party. In November 1996
he was re-elected to the House of Representatives. In February
1997 he was elected President of PDP.
