BENTONVILLE, Ark., Feb. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. today announced it has been named to Hispanic Magazine's "Corporate 100: The Top 100 Companies Providing the most Opportunities to Hispanics."

"Wal-Mart is honored to be recognized by Hispanic Magazine," said Charlyn Jarrells Porter, Chief Diversity Officer for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. "We know our commitment to diversity is fundamental to our success. That means that our culture must be as distinct as the associates we hire, the customers we serve, the suppliers from which we buy and the communities in which we operate. With more than one million associates, we take pride in our diverse, mosaic family of Associates, and will continue to celebrate that diversity."

The list, given in alphabetical order, was determined by several factors, including minority recruitment efforts, diversity training programs, the number of Hispanics on boards of directors, minority business initiatives, as well as scholarships and grant monies given to Latino communities.
