Costa Caribe Golf & Country Club Opens Puerto Rico's First Island Green

PONCE, Puerto Rico, Aug. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- On Saturday, August 30, 2003, Costa Caribe Golf & Country Club will open their island green - the first ever in Puerto Rico.

"We are eager to show Puerto Rico and the world all that Puerto Rico offers in golf," says Alberto Torruella, President of Serralles Hotel Inc., owner of Costa Caribe.

With the new routing of the eighteen holes, the island green will be Hole #13.

"The island green will add a new challenge to those who've already played here at Costa Caribe and to those who haven't yet played our great facility," said Roberto E. Horta, General Manager of Costa Caribe Golf & Country Club.

Opened in May 2003, Costa Caribe Golf & Country Club's temporary entrance is in the Los Caobos area. The connecting bridge from the Hilton Ponce & Casino is scheduled to open October 24, 2003; the first villas are scheduled for completion in December 2003; the clubhouse is expected to open in late Spring 2004. Public guest fees are $65 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday and $75 Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Guest fees include: greens fee, golf car with towel, divot repair tool, tees & a bottle of water.

Located in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Costa Caribe Golf & Country Club is part of the Costa Caribe Resort. The Costa Caribe Resort includes: The Hilton Ponce & Casino, Costa Caribe Villas and Costa Caribe Golf & Country Club featuring 27 holes of Championship golf designed by Bruce A. Besse, Jr. (Willowbend Golf & Land Design) and a 32,000 sq. foot Clubhouse with ocean views (scheduled to open late Spring 2004). Costa Caribe Resort is owned and being developed by Serralles Hotel, Inc. Costa Caribe Golf & Country Club is managed by Willowbend Golf Management, an affiliate of Willowbend Development LLC of Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
