AUSTIN, Texas--Recent survey results have shown that 75 percent of Hispanics are very concerned about their financial well being. To help families focus more on their finances, the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) and State Farm(R) have teamed up to educate the Hispanic community with a new program, "Securing Your Family's Future: A Personal Financial Guide for Latinos."

"Securing Your Family's Future" features a video that is available in English and Spanish. It is also supported by a workbook that teaches important aspects of financial services from checking and savings to life insurance and retirement savings, also available in either language. The video and workbook, which will be available in September, will be distributed through a collaborative effort of NCLR affiliates and State Farm agents.

"State Farm has the advantage of having more than 16,000 agents in communities throughout the United States," says Jack Weekes, vice president of marketing at State Farm. "We can help provide this educational tool at the local level. State Farm is committed to the Hispanic community because we are a part of the community."

NCLR is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan, tax-exempt organization established in 1968 to reduce poverty and discrimination and improve life opportunities for Hispanic Americans. NCLR has chosen to work toward this goal through two primary, complementary approaches and applied research, policy analysis, and advocacy. NCLR is the largest constituency-based national Hispanic organization, serving all Hispanic nationality groups in all regions of the country. NCLR has over 270 formal affiliates who together serve 40 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia - and a broader network of more than 30,000 groups and individuals nationwide - reaching more than three and a half million Hispanics annually.

State Farm insures more cars than any other insurer in North America and is the leading U.S. home insurer. State Farm's 16,000 agents and 75,000 employees serve nearly 73 million auto, fire, life and health policies in the United States and Canada. State Farm also offers financial services products through State Farm Bank (R). State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company is the parent of the State Farm family of companies. State Farm is ranked No. 21 on the Fortune 500 list of largest companies. For more information, please visit statefarm.com(R) or in Canada statefarm.ca.
