San Juan, Puerto Rico, May 7, 2003 — Caribe.Net, Puerto Rico’s largest independent Internet Service Provider, announced that they have begun offering high-speed Internet access in Miami, Florida.

"Our presence in the NAP of the Americas, along with our state-of-the-art network design, allowed us to scale our network quickly to facilitate the launching of high-speed services in Florida," said Carlo Marazzi, President of Caribe.Net.

"Caribe.Net will offer the same redundant, secure and scalable Internet services in Miami as we do in Puerto Rico. And, Caribe.Net’s team of bilingual Internet experts will continue to provide customer service and technical support for our Miami customers from San Juan", continued Marazzi.

The NAP of the Americas is a point of access into the Internet where telecommunications carriers interconnect networks to facilitate the global exchange of Internet traffic.

Caribe.Net will initially offer T1 and DS3 services to business customers in Miami. Plans to offer residential Internet services, such as dialup and broadband services, are currently on track for launch by Christmas 2003.

"Our venture is being welcomed with open arms in the Hispanic communities in Miami. We are very excited about doing business in the U.S. mainland, and facilitating increased communication services between Puerto Rico and the mainland", said Celedonio Albarran, V.P. of Sales for Caribe.Net.

Expansion of the Caribe.Net network to Miami is part of the company’s plans to expand its services outside of Puerto Rico, as well as to expand into other areas of telecommunications, such as IP Telephony.

Headquartered in El Telegrafo in Santurce, Puerto Rico, Caribe.Net is an Internet Service Provider offering e-commerce infrastructure, end-to-end IT solutions and a full suite of retail, corporate and wholesale Internet services. In 2000, Caribe.Net became a Certified Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC).
