US Airways To Begin Serving Boston-San Juan Route

ARLINGTON, Va. - US Airways will begin nonstop roundtrip service between Boston and San Juan, Puerto Rico tomorrow, the first of three new routes to be added early this year from Boston. US Airways will also introduce Boston-Cancun and Boston-Bermuda service in spring 2003.

The new service will operate each Saturday, using 120-seat Airbus A-319 aircraft, configured with 108 seats in Coach Class and 12 seats in First Class. Flights will depart Boston at 7 a.m., and will arrive in San Juan at 11:46 a.m. Returning flights will depart San Juan at 5:55 p.m., and will arrive in Boston at 9:11 p.m. Additional Sunday Boston-San Juan service will begin on March 9, 2003, with the same flight schedule.

"The US Airways gateway to the Caribbean in Boston will continue to expand, when the company adds new nonstop service from Boston to Cancun next month."

US Airways currently operates nonstop service to San Juan daily from its Pittsburgh hub, and operates multiple daily frequencies from its Charlotte, N.C., and Philadelphia hubs.

US Airways currently serves the following Caribbean destinations: Antigua, Aruba, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Cancun, Cozumel, Grand Bahama Island, Grand Cayman, Grenada, Montego Bay, Nassau, Providenciales, Punta Cana, San Juan, Santo Domingo, St. Croix, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, and St. Thomas. US Airways Express also serves North Eleuthera, Governors Harbour, Marsh Harbour and Treasure Cay from select cities in Florida.
