August 19, 2002 SAN JOSE, CA, Aug. 19 /CNW/ - Core Networks Inc., the leader in cable OSS solution today announced that Liberty Cablevision, a subsidiary of Liberty Media Corporation, one of the world's largest entertainment and communications companies, deployed Core Networks' solution to deliver and manage high speed Internet services for over 125,000 subscribers in their market. CoreOS was installed in early June and is being used to serve subscribers in the North, Central, and Eastern regions of Puerto Rico. This sale of Core Networks' CoreOS offering was completed through the company's partner and reseller, TVC Latin America. "The exploding growth of broadband services in our region required us to look at streamlining the delivery and management of our high speed Internet services and other advanced services we will offer in the future," said Jose Alegria, General Manager of Liberty Cablevision. "CoreOS offers the entire suite of tools we need to make our broadband business a successful one. It is a solution that will grow with us, allowing us to easily expand our service offering in future to include PacketCable and CableHome." Liberty Cablevision is using the Core Networks API (application program interface) to integrate CoreOS with the CSG billing system. This seamless integration will directly connect the detailed subscriber information collected by CoreOS with the operators legacy system, enabling a streamlined billing process and maximizing return on investment in existing infrastructure.
