SANTA MONICA -- Latin heartthrob Luis Fonsi was recently in Miami shooting the video for the debut single "Secret" in preparation for the release of his first English language album Fight The Feeling. Behind the camera making his directorial debut, and also appearing in the video, is Joey Fatone from 'N Sync. Joey and Fonsi have been friends since high school, and they were members of an a capella pop group called Big Guys. Joey joined Fonsi on stage last year in San Juan, Puerto Rico for one of Fonsi's two sold out shows at the 10,000 seat venue Coliseo Roberto Clemente.

In other great news, Fonsi's third Spanish language album, Amor Secreto (Universal Latino), which was simultaneously recorded during the sessions for Fight The Feeling, debuts this week at #1 on Billboard's Heatseeker and Latin album charts. Fonsi has sold more than three times the number of albums as the #2 Latin Album, and he is the first latin artist to reach #1 on the Heatseeker chart since Jaguares.

Fight The Feeling will include some English version songs from Amor Secreto, as well as some new tracks written especially for this release. Luis himself co-produced and co-wrote several tracks on these new albums, as well as having written several Spanish-to-English and English-to-Spanish translations of the lyrics. Fight The Feeling will be released on MCA Records/Universal Latino on July 2nd.

Though only in his early 20's, Luis Fonsi has built up a huge fan base around the world, thanks to his magical way with a song. Two previous Spanish language CD's (1998's RIAA gold album Comenzare and 2000's gold Eterno) have set the stage for his first English album.

Born and bred in Puerto Rico, Fonsi has lived in the United States since he was ten, is 100% bilingual and knows pop music as well as anyone alive. For Fight The Feeling, Luis sought the aid of several top European and American songwriter/producers, including Eclectic Productions (Christina Aquilera), Underground Productions (LFO), Oliver Leiber, Steve Morales (Celine Dion, Enrique Iglesias), and Rudy Perez.
